Club success – Money for Jam

Zonta Club of Adelaide won the Public Relations & Communications Award in the category Operating in a Covid-19 environment at the District 23 conference.  This was judged the best project across clubs in SA, WA, NT, Vic and Tasmania.

With traditional fundraisers cancelled due to Covid-19, the Zonta Club of Adelaide tried something different to meet commitments. Sales of homemade jams and pickles! Ingredients were sourced from donations and recycled jars were used. With increased demand, the club got smarter and started selling hampers. Boxes were made from timber offcuts by two community workshops.

Outcomes from the project

  • $20,000 raised, with regular business orders,
  • 5 new members,
  • Zonta reached 500 homes,
  • Club project commitments were met,
  • $7,500 was donated to Zonta Foundation for Women.
